Sabzi Dal [Dal With Mixed Veggies] TOP - 10 -VEG / NON - VEG UNIQUE DISHES

Sabzi Dal [Mixed Dal With Mixed Veggies]

Introduction:    Healthy & tasty wholesome recipe of fresh chopped mixed Veggies cooked with Moong -Masoor  Dal. Its popular in Punjab & Bengal.                   

Ingredients:
  • 1 cup soaked moong dal 
  • 1 cup soaked masoor dal
  • 1/2 cup small chopped carrot
  • 1/2 cup small chopped beans
  • 1/2 cup peas
  • 1/2 cup chopped cauliflower
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped tomatoes
  • 1 tbsp each finely chopped / paste ginger - garlic
  • 2 bay leaves, 2 dry red chillis
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tbsp cloves, green cardamom and cinnamon  
  • Salt and sugar as per taste
  • 1 tbsp  garam masala powder 
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 hand full fresh chopped cilantro [optional]
  • 1/4 cup mustard / sunflower oil & 1 tbsp ghee.







                                                                                                                                        









Procedure:



Boil the dals in pressure cooker  with 1/4 tsp turmeric
powder and 1/2 tsp salt with 2-3 whistles.


                            

 
Now heat oil in a wok / kadai ,  add bay leaves
and whole garam masalas .When they stop
 crackling, add chopped onion and grated
 ginger- garlic and saute them for few mins.
  

 
Now add all chopped veggies and saute / mix well .
Cook on medium flame with lid .  


                     
Now add salt and 1/4 tsp turmeric powder .

         
When the veggies becomes soft then add 1/2 tsp
 garam masala powder and mix well .
             
       
After that add boiled dals and 1/2 cup of lukewarm
water .
   
   
  
And cook the dal with sabzi(veggies) on high flame for 3-5 
mins and add remaining garam masala powder .





After that  put off the gas stove. Heat ghee in a 
rice spoon and add cumin seed and dry red chillis.
When they stop crackling then put the spoon with 
ghee, cumin & chilli in the veggies dal and cover 
for 5 mins .


Now add fresh chopped cilantro .[optional]


Now ready to serve Sabzi Dal With Hot Rice, Ghee-Roti 
& Paratha .

Serves:  4-6
